Workstations (PC and MAC)

  • These computers offer specialized multimedia hardware and software. There are 11 PC and 1 MAC. Due to COVID-19, we can have two people per group.
  • To use Adobe CC, you must have Adobe Account. It is free to sign up if you a VSU Faculty, Staff or Student.

3D Camera

  • Staff will assist with using 3D camera until we feel that user can use the equipment correctly.

3D Printer

  • The Library prohibits the use of its makerspace equipment to create material that is:
    • Prohibited by local, state, or federal law.
    • Unsafe, harmful, dangerous, or poses an immediate threat to the well-being of others.
    • Obscene or otherwise inappropriate for the campus environment.
    • In violation of another’s intellectual property rights. For example, you cannot reproduce material subject to copyright, patent, or trademark protection.
  • For the 3D printers, there is a maximum of four print jobs per month per person.
  • Maximum duration of a 3D print job is 6 hours.
  • 3D print jobs will be available within 7 days. Makers will receive an email notification when the 3D object is available.

Raspberry Pi, Arduino, and Robot arms

  • All projects used with computer parts must cleared by JML staff and returned to its original state when project is done.

The Library reserves the right to refuse any 3D print or vinyl cut request.  Violation of the rules, responsibilities, and agreements set forth in these policies, may result in disciplinary action. Severe violations of university-wide policies may result in disciplinary actions from the Library, University, or legal action as defined by those policies.
