This is not a comprehensive subject guide, but rather a selective list of materials that are most useful for locating information in this field.   Covers nearly every aspect of business, including company histories and new product development. Includes abstracts and indexes of significant articles from current business and management periodicals. Provides access to selected full-text  articles. 

• Business and Company Resource Center
  Provides company profiles, brand information, rankings, investment reports, company histories, chronologies and periodicals.
  

• Factiva
  Provides financial, historical, and product information for publicly traded companies worldwide, full-text magazine and journal articles, and current and historical stock quotes.
   
• InfoTrac OneFile
A one-stop source for news and periodical articles on a wide range of topics: business, computers, current events, economics, education, environmental issues, health care, hobbies, humanities, law, literature and art, politics, science, social science, sports, technology, and many general interest topics.


• Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe 
Provides access to a wide range of domestic and international news, business, and legal information sources, including legislative, government, company, financial and demographic information, market research, and industry reports.


• Thomson Research (formerly Global Access)
  Contains information from SEC filings and corporate annual reports. Includes financial and management information for more than 12,000 public companies trading on major U.S. exchanges.
  
  
• ValueLine Investment Survey
  Contains full-page reports and analyst commentaries on more than 1,700 stocks. Includes current and historical statistics on investment factors and three to five year forecasts.

• FINDEX: Worldwide Directory of Market Research Reports
Contains descriptions of consumer and industrial studies and surveys, syndicated and multi-client studies, audits and subscription research services, as well as published reports on general management and business topics. 
 
• PAIS International
Contains abstracts of journal articles, books, statistical yearbooks, directories, conference proceedings, research reports and government documents. Topics covered include economic, political and social issues, business, finance, law, international trade and relations, public administration, and much more.

Includes 2000 census data and a detailed economic profile of the U.S. economy. Allows users to browse, search, and locate reference and thematic maps.


• Consumer Expenditure Survey
Provides data on the buying habits of American consumers, including data on their expenditures, income, and consumer unit (families and single consumers) characteristics. 


• Current Employment Statistics
  Provides detailed industry data on employment, hours, and earnings of U,S, workers.
  
  
• Statistical Abstract of the United States 
  
The online version of the Statistical Abstract of the United States. Contains a compilation of statistics profiling the social, demographic, and economic conditions in the United States. Current copy of the printed publication is available at the Reference Desk and back issues in the Government Documents Collection, First Floor of Library. Call number: C 3.134: 


• Statistical Universe 
Allows users to search American Statistical Index, the latest edition of Statistical Abstracts of the United States, the Statistical Research Index, and Index to International Statistics. Includes full text of selected U.S. federal and state documents. 
 
• STAT-USA: State of the Nation
  
Contains current and historical economic and financial releases and economic data of the U.S., including economic indicators, manufacturing and industry (e.g. retail sales), monetary statistics, employment, housing and construction, and economy policy.   

•  American Marketing Association
  Includes publications, announcements, classified ads, and staff and member directories.
  
  
• North American Industry Classification System (NAICS)
A new standard code system that describes business establishments and industries. Replaces the U.S. Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) system. 
 
• Social Sciences Data on the Net
Contains a searchable and browsable database of  Internet sites of numeric Social Science statistical data, data catalogs, data libraries, social science gateways, addresses and much more. 


• Standard Industrial Classification Manual
Provides descriptive information for specified 4-digit SIC number.
