Computer Science Subject Guide

This subject guide covers computer science resources available at the Johnston Memorial Library, including full-text journals, magazine, and newspaper articles,  computer science websites, and printed materials in the Reference Collection. This is not a comprehensive subject guide, but rather a selective list of materials that are most useful for locating information in this field. Library location and call  numbers are provided for print publications.

  • Contains computer-related product information, news, and reviews in areas such as hardware, software, electronics, engineering, communications and the application of technology.
  • InfoTrac OneFile
  • A one-stop source for news and periodical articles on a wide range of topics: business, computers, current events, economics, education, environmental issues, health care, hobbies, humanities, law, literature and art, politics, science, social science, sports, technology, and many general interest topics.
     
  • Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe
  • Provides access to a wide range of domestic and international news, business, and legal information sources, including legislative, government, company, financial and demographic information, market research, and industry reports.

    Provides access to bibliographic citations covering literature in engineering and technology. Includes EiCompendex, U.S. patents, and industry specifications and standards.

  • Provides access to English-language bibliographic information service for world's scientific and technical literature in physics, electrical engineering, electronics, communications, control engineering, computers and computing, and information technology.
     
  • Internet and Personal Computing Abstracts
  • Provides information on the latest personal computing products and developments in business, industry, education, libraries, and the home.
  • NTIS 
  • Provides bibliographic information on U.S. government and worldwide government-sponsored research in the areas of agriculture, biotechnology, business, communication, energy, engineering, environment, health and safety, medicine, research and development, science, space, technology, and transportation.
